Re: character conversions
Depends what you want to do. There is no hard and fast system for converting from other systems to Squadron UK. What characters would you like to see converted to Squadron UK? I'll have a go at converting them if you like.

Re: character conversions
Hi, I have a question about convertion from GH. My players have been playing GH for over a year now and so don't want to start again. Most of the abilities and powers my players characters have I can convert to the new rules relatively easily with some gains and losses here and there, however one of my players when randomly creating his character rolled Magic and Psionics! He there fore has a lot of powers he can use or give to other people that simulate other powers. As Magic and Psionice are just backgrounds now that give a reason for the powers existing I am not sure how this would work without making his charcter massively powerful. The only thing that wouild limit his abilities was the number of magic and Psi points he had but as this doesn't exist now how do I make sure he has the same options but isn't virtually god like. Use half levels?

Hi,
it'sentirely possible (and some would say likely), but I am having trouble finding it. Can you point me in the right direction?

Re: character conversions
Let me repost it here for you
Hi and welcome to the forum.
Magic and Psionics is indeed tricky. Perhaps we can ask a favour. Kevin on the forum is meeting up with Simon Burley in a couple of weeks at Games Expo. Kevin is running several games throughout the event. Perhaps if you could post your players GH write-up on the forum we could ask Simon to take a look at it and offer advice on how best to convert him over. That way you could get the answer straight from the source.

Re: character conversions
I will ask simon. the Magic/Psyonics/Cyber have moved from being "Powers" to being the "thing" that gives the Hero the Power.
Dave the Mage can fly because he is magical, either a spell or just pure magical energy.
Dave the Cyborg can fly because he has thrusters in his legs
etc...
ill try and get Simon to provide a better explanation

Re: character conversions
HI, thanks for that but that was from a year ago and doesn't really move me forward. Was there any update from Simon after that last post?
Perhaps I will come up with some rules myself and post them up. Would that be OK?
I am thinking either half levels for powers created due to magic, or using a point system similar to the Energy Blast Rules.

Re: character conversions
Converting of stats is easy because they are pretty much the same. Derived stats are therefore no problem. Where I found issue was in converting powers. Not all of the powers from GH are replicated

"Not all of the powers from GH are replicated" Which is why I'm trying to get my head around trying to fit them into the new SQUK system if I can.

I will be adding revised magic, psyonics & cybernetics. What other powers do I need to add?

"What other powers do I need to add?" How many months free time do you have?

Re: character conversions
"maybe a powers book might be on the cards...." Some of the pwers that were in the first edition of SQUK can be replicated in the second edition, but others seem a bit more difficult to do. I think it would be a long tough job sitting down and thinking out just how to replicate say Conjouring in the new system.

Re: character conversions
For contouring you could use follower. That's a little clunky but could work.if you needed it.
