Where are your games set? Empty Where are your games set?

So I sat down and re-read the rules last night, basically my mother in law I staying with us for a week and I need an excuse to not have to spend the night in the living room listening to her talk through all the programs on TV

Anyway I was reading it and came to the chapter about Birmingham campaign and wondered if anyone else set their games in cities in the UK rather than the traditional American ones.

I’ve played one in London, our long time Golden Heroes campaign from when I was a kid but never anywhere else. To begin with it actually seemed silly to choose a city in the UK for a supers game but after reading that chapter I thought what a great idea.

So where do you set your supers games and how did they turn out? Or where would you really like to set your game if you had the chance?

I still use Inguria (Shanter Island) from the 'Superhero 2044' rules (my first supers game). Over the years it has been expanded upon and given more detail (also it moved to the Indian Ocean sometime in the 1980's).

I've always set my games in the UK in the modern era. The locales ranged from a secret research base under the sea off the Scilly Isles to the moors outside of Sheffield.

"gh/squk/comic code" Is the comics code an rpg? And is it similar to SQUK?

Yes the comics code is a very, light supers game.

Is it related in any way, ruleswise, to the new SQUK?

The good thing about the UK is all that folklore that can be a goldmine for scenario ideas. Black Shuck and Black Annis, and assorted Boggarts and ghosts are all fine fare for a scenario, especially for Squadron X.

In legacy the SQUKX verse is where the fae went when they left our earth. Through the Eilodon hills.

I had various magical races hide with "polders" ( magical pocket worlds) to escape the ice age. And some were natural shapechangers, like palugs (cats that turn into panthers) that could hide from mankind in plain view.
